PASSOVER SEDER PLATESLaura Cowan Home > Passover Seder Plates A range of beautiful contemporary Seder plates for the Pesach or Passover Seder table, inspired by the craters on the moon’s surface. Laura designed the Seder plates to combine geometric with organic, by softening the square shape of the plate with the round indentations. By the nature of the creative process, the shape is slightly different each time and no two pieces are identical. To buy a seder plate, click on the "buy now" button. MOON SEDER PLATE
The minimalist Moon Seder plate design is made from polished aluminum. The six words representing the symbols - the Shankbone, the Egg, the Bitter Herbs, the Mixture, the Vegetable and the Bitter Herbs - are engraved in Hebrew by Laura on the center of the plate by using a fine jeweller’s saw.
4 LAYER SILVER WAVE SEDER PLATE
The Silver Wave Seder Plate beholds an elegant, classic yet modern design. Taking almost a year to complete, it incorporates four unique layers. The top layer consists of a silver platter and 6 silver dishes with three layers underneath for the three Seder matzos. Three matzot are needed so that when we break the middle matzah, we are still left with two whole ones to pronounce the "Hamotzi". These layers represent the three components of the Jewish nation: Cohen, Levy and Israel. The flowing effect of the six dishes on the silver layer gives the illusion of them floating just above the surface.
A truly stunning piece of Judaica which can only serve to elevate the soul and bring down the sparks of light at such an important Jewish festival.
WAVE SEDER PLATE
The six words in Hebrew which represent the symbols on this Silver and Aluminium Wave Seder Plate and Laura's round seder plates, are hand cut by Laura. Avoiding the use of soldering, all the components of the Pesach Seder Plate are screwed together in a style reminiscent of Bauhaus, affording a clean look, and preserving the smooth finish of the metal.
