The Green Orb Mezuzah is a handcrafted, rocket-shaped mezuzah formed in copper and sterling silver.

Laura develops the green patina by burying the copper form overnight in a controlled mixture of sawdust and acid. The piece is turned repeatedly to achieve the right depth and movement of colour, reminiscent of Eilat stone. No two surfaces emerge exactly alike.

Sterling silver bands encircle the mezuzah, inspired by the rings of Saturn and creating contrast against the richly textured surface.

Fits 3 inch / 8 cm scroll

A little about me

Laura Cowan is a contemporary Judaica designer known for her modern menorahs and architectural Jewish ritual objects. A graduate of Silversmithing and Jewellery at London Guildhall University, she designs and handcrafts her work in Israel.
